This collabo between Res, Talib Kweli and Graph Nobel honestly left me a little underwhelmed, but I’ll be happy if it brings Res back into the limelight and releasing music again.

Zion I’s Amplive has been on a remixing bender as of late. Starting with his reworking of Radiohead’s In Rainbows album, and continuing with a spree of remixes of the likes of Santogold, Jamie Lidell, Public Enemy, Tokyo Police Club, MGMT and more.

Zion I will be releasing a long-awaited new album, The Takeover, in January via Gold Dust Records. In the meantime they will be releasing a mixtape – and by mixtape, I mean an actual cassette tape, called The Search & The Seizure mixtape which sees the duo re-working and re-interpreting a range of hip-hop classics on the A-Side, with the B-Side focusing on electro and indie-rock favorites.  The Santogold track above is taken from this release. Res, one of the most talented artists to be continually overlooked by the label system, and Talib Kweli have formed a group – Idle Warship. Personally I’d like to see Res collabo with someone a little….edgier, maybe, than Talib but maybe this will help get her some well-deserved shine until those Pharrell tracks she’s supposedly working on actually drop. You can check out several tracks on their MySpace. The one being most talked about is Industry Diary which recounts their industry drama over Alicia Keys’ “Diary”.
