Wayna made me a fan with her debut album Moments of Clarity. But her next release Higher Ground really shows the huge potential she has, so much so that it made it into my Top 8 of 2008. She’s starting to get some real recognition for her talent. She is currently up for a Grammy in the Urban/Alternative category, for the song “Lovin You (Music)” and her recently completed video for “My Love” is creating some real buzz. Not only is the song extremely strong in itself, dealing with the issue of domestic violence, but the video is a powerful companion.Check the video below and grab the mp3 of the song here:

Here’s a new joint from Peter Hadar. “Watermelon” is a collabo with producer Nicolay and features one of his trademark soulful hip-hop beats. It’s taken from a new mixtape from DJ Jamad.
