Theophilus London - This Charming Mixtape DownloadA little while ago we highlighted London’s excellent “Cold Pillow” track and now he has just dropped his “This Charming Mixtape” download. This sees London delving more into the electro/nu wave side of things. This coupled with his pleading vocal intonations, nerd-punk style, and generally dark-hued outlook require a whole other genre. Emo-soul I’m calling it! I’m still kinda reserving judgement on the mixtape as a whole – besides Cold Pillow, I’m not getting that much into it yet. But in any case, it’s worth a listen – definitely an interesting point of departure from your usual progressive soul stuff.
